LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales
Are you afraid of the Darth? Disney+ has a spell on us! The much anticipated Hocus Pocus sequel is scheduled to hit in 2022, but the beloved original film from 1993 featuring our favorite 300-year old witches The Sanderson Sisters is available to stream this Halloween season. Add Hocus Pocus to your Disney+ queue.
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
The classic 1949 special that mashed up “The Wind in the Willows” and “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” featuring the legendary Bing Crosby is only on Disney+. The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror
Beginning in Season 2, the Treehouse of Horror episodes of The Simpson are some of the most sought-after Halloween episodes in television history. The short horror tales within each episode parody the spookiest tales in horror history. Add The Simpsons to your Disney+ queue.
For a spooky medieval tale this Halloween, check out the Gargoyles animated series that originally aired from 1994-96. Awakened from a 1,000-year old curse, the gargoyles come back to life to defend the castle.
Laugh yourself to death with several Halloween themed episodes of America’s Funniest Videos. Trick-or-treating pranks, jump scares, and costumes gone wrong are included in these special episodes which you can find in seasons 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 23. Add AFV to your Disney+ queue.
Mr Boogedy (1986) and Bride of Boogedy (1987)
In 1986, Disney developed a TV pilot that was eventually converted to a TV movie called Mr Boogedy. The story follows the Davis family as they move to Lucifer Falls and are haunted by Colonial period ghosts, namely Mr. Boogedy who sold his soul to the devil for a magic cloak.
In 1987, Disney released a sequel Bride of Boogedy, again as a TV movie, which continued the events of the first film. Notable actors in the films include John Astin, Kristy Swanosn, David Faustino, and Eugene Levy. Watch the TV Movie intro for the first film below for a mind jolt…
